This is about right. Some are doing this sooner. Within days
of birth. My son had lip repair at 10 weeks and palate at 7
months. They had told us palate repair would be between 9 and 12
mo. but it depends on growth. I know that you are very upset
right now but it will be o.k. There are alot of us who have gone
through this and this is a great site to ask questions and
recieve support. Hang in there.

My son also had his lip repair at three months and is being
scheduled for palat repair at nine months. I know there are
people who have it done at birth, but most I have heard of are
also at three months. They will not be an easy three months for
your family, but it will go faster than you think. Funny, when I
passed my son off to the nurses for that surgey and realized he
would never look the same again, I was sad. And part of me still
does miss that little face. my suggestion_take lots of
pictures..it will help with explanations later, and also with
your greif management.
