Hi Alan! Did you know about your son' cleft before he was
born? What kind of info would you like to hear? It has been a
year since my daughter's surgery for a unilateral cleft lip, and
most of the time I tend to forget about it because the surgery
was so successful. I can assure you that I learned that if a
unilateral cleft lip is all that your son has, you should feel
blessed. I am a nursing student, so I have seen a lot of things,
but the first time my daughter & I went to the children's
hospital where her surgery was performed, I just couldn't believe
how blessed we were. I am not trying to downplay the emotions
that are felt around a child's cleft, but at least it is not life
threatening.
Anyway, let me know of any help I can be, or any question's
you might have Bye Jennifer
